"The man who has confidence
in himself gains the confidence of others."
- Hasidic Saying
Confidence is that intangible 'something' that separates those who are successful in life from those who are not. Often, it is the only thing, as ability and talent are submerged beneath a 'can do' attitude.
What seperates a confident person from one who is not confident is an inner dialogue of self praise and congratulation. A confident person will continually be approving of the way in which they are handling situations such as public speaking or job interviews. With this bedrock of support their minds feel reasured and supported enough to take on new challenges and to put themselves forward. Even if they do come 'unstuck' on occasion, they are forgiving of themselves, pledging to do better the next time.
A person lacking in self confidence, however, will approach situations in a totally different way. The inner dialogue will be constantly critical and this will, over time, erode and undermine any confidence the person ever had. Each new situation will seem more daunting than the last and a self-fulfilling prophecy of failure will emerge. Whereas a confident person will build on success, an unconfident person will build on the wobbly foundations of the percieved, past failure.
It does not have to be this way. Hypnosis gives an opportunity for that negative inner dialogue to be turned around and for the confidence, so lacking in the past, to be strengthened and enboldened, so that you can take on whatever situation you wish to and be truly satisfied with how you perform.
